Many popular dresses each have their own measurment chart below. Some dresses have very similar measurments and will share a measurment chart. Please note that dress specific measurements are of the GARMENT AND NOT THE CHILD. This means room should be considered so the item is not skin tight. We normally suggest between 1 and 1.5 inches for "wiggle" room on chest and waist measurements. Please be advised that all measurements and sizing charts are only guidelines to help in size selection, while designers provide measurement charts based on their own pattern cuts, these measurements can differ slightly due to style and production lots.

For general sizing information, consult the first link below, "Industry Standard Sizing Chart for Girls". This chart reflects the measurements of the child, not the garment. Another extremely general guideline is to select the size one above the child's age (for example, a size 6 for a 5 year old).
