Special Order Policy

Should you require a quantity, color, or size of any item that is currently not in stock, we will happily offer special order servicing to help.

If your order is for special occassion wear in multiples (more than one piece per style and color), we most likely will special order your items to ensure each is from the same dye and material lot. We assume multiples ordered are intended for weddings and special events and must match. For this reason, we cannot offer refunds on multiples ordered in the same size/color/style for special events.

Special orders can take between two to six weeks for delivery to your door. We do everything we can to make it two, and not six weeks. Usually, it is only the high end christening gowns and suits that are made to order that require six weeks. Ten to fourteen days is the norm for special order turn-around.

Special order items can be selected from the website and paid in full at check out or you may call our toll free order number during business hours. We cannot place your items on order with the designer until payment is made.

Once the payment is secured, the order cannot be cancelled unless we are able to safely stop your order from production/shipping with its designer/manufacturer. We will, of course, endeavor to cease the order if at all possible. Many times, we pay a non-refundable deposit to secure the attention needed from a designer for a special order request.

Once the special order item reaches The Briar Patch and passes all inspections for damages or flaws, we will ship your item as instructed per your order. Regular flat rate fees of the Briar Patch apply unless special shipping services are requested at their particular cost.

There can be no returns on [non-damaged and correctly ordered] special order items unless otherwise granted by Briar Patch management. We will happily do our best to exchange and adapt for sizing problems that may occur. Please keep in mind deadlines, event dates, and whatever delivery times we claim on items for exchange. Sometimes alterations are your best option.

All special order merchandise is rigorously inspected for flaws or damages. If any is found appropriate deductions in price will be offered our customer or the item will be returned to its original designer. Discounts are offered when we feel it is necessary to make your event date.

Because all special orders run a risk of damage or flaw, we encourage our customers to order with as much lead time as possible to accommodate any such misfortune. We want your special occasion to be perfect in every way, and with the least amount of stress for you.
